Intellectual Property Innovation & Entrepreneurship Contest Global 2018 was one of the largest, most influential and highest-level international events. It was guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, co-sponsored by the SME Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (China SME International Cooperation Association), the Information Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Chamber of Commerce of Guangzhou Industrial Park, and supported by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Industry and Information Technology.
In the contest, 62 enterprises and 16 industrial parks were attracted to collect 123 items, with investment fund up to US$85 million. At the meantime, regional competitions were held in 10 countries and regions, including Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia, Israel, South Korea, Russia, Malaysia, Germany, Switzerland and the United States, attracted 1,285 innovative projects.

The “Maker in China” 2018 SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest settled in Hong Kong for the first time. The Hong Kong competition was hosted by the Angel Investment Foundation and co-organized by WTOIP.com. It was held on May 17, 2018 at the Entrepreneurship Day of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The event attracted 300 People from the investment and innovation and technology circles attended the event in person. The competition introduced the innovation and technology investment needs of 62 leading domestic companies and 4 Hong Kong companies, including: Guangzhou Automobile Group (2238.hk), Xiangxue Pharmaceutical (300147.sz), Jinfa Science and Technology (600143.sh), Xilong Science (002584.sz), CVTE, SINOMACH (430076), Guoguang Electric (002045.hk), Xianruwei Cooking Food Group, etc., have offered a reward of US$85 million to the world project.
The Angel Investment Foundation also allocated 30 million Hong Kong dollars to provide up to 70% share repurchase guarantees for investors who will invest in award-winning projects in the future, and finally successfully discovered 8 projects in Hong Kong and entered the finals in Hong Kong. 4 projects were successfully connected to 4 Local companies are offering investment rewards, and the other 4 docking domestic companies participating in investment rewards.
In the end, one project “Novus Life Sciences” representing Hong Kong was selected from eight projects, and a total of 1284 entries from nine other countries and regions competed in the final finals, and finally won the global championship with a prize of USD$100,000.
